In July we posted about the first public sessions for the Strip District Transportation and Land Use Project. Next week will bring the next round of public events. On September 11, 13, and 15, the public is invited to join the City and Consultant Team in developing concepts for the Strip District’s future at a design charrette. The intensive planning process includes technical sessions with project stakeholders, elected officials, and agencies as well as open public sessions at key points during the week. All public sessions will be in an open house formation with no formal presentation. The event will be held at the Society for Contemporary Craft, 2100 Smallman Street. There are three sessions open to the general public:
Kick-Off Open House – Project overview, goals and charrette schedule
Monday, September 10 from noon – 1:30 pm in the main gallery
Midweek Open House – Review of working sketches and draft plan
Thursday, September 13 from 2:30 – 4 PM in the basement workshop
Plan Open House – Presentation of Strip District plan and renderings
Saturday, September 15 in the main gallery from 11 am – 1pm
The project team will be working at this location for the entire week. Members of the general public are welcome to walk in and observe at any time. More information is available here.
